GKN appoints chief executive

Engineering company GKN plc has appointed Marcus Bryson as chief executive of GKN Aerospace. Bryson will take responsibility for all GKN Aerospace operations on a global basis from 1 January 2006 and will join the GKN plc executive committee.

He has been with GKN for 22 years and has held a wide range of senior executive positions including financial director, site director, and general manager of manufacturing and supply.

During 2000, Bryson was responsible for the global rationalization of GKN Aerospace operations and led the team that completed the acquisition of the Boeing Military Aircraft and Missile Systems Business fabrication facilities in St Louis, Missouri, USA.

Two years later he was appointed ceo of GKN Aerospace, Europe.
