Systems engineer clinches business award

Crew systems engineer for BAE Systems at Warton Aerodrome, Sara Pullen, has clinched the title of Young Woman Engineer of the Year 2005, a UK competition launched by the Institution of Incorporated Engineers and the Caroline Haslett Memorial Trust.

Pullen will visit schools and colleges over the next 12 months sharing her enthusiasm for a profession she loves and encouraging others to consider it for their future.

Commenting on the award, Pullen said: “The only thing I wanted to do [at school] was dismantle things and see how they worked, which is why I became an engineer.” ....
