Grob weighs up bigger corporate sector aircraft design

Grob Aerospace, which showcased its new spn light jet at the U.K.'s Cambridge airport at the Business & General Aviation Day (BGAD) 07, is working on the design of a new business aircraft.

Dr. Andreas Strohmayer, md, says that any new gains in weight reduction generated by further research into lighter spn composite structure and parts could well be "invested" in providing a larger cabin.

"The mid-section could be made longer, increasing seating space but we haven't made any final decisions as they will depend on design developments. Our thinking is that there is a maximum possible capacity of 19 seats but we will probably go for less than that." Since its public debut at the Paris Air Show in 2005....
