Russia and Iran negotiate production of Tupolev aircraft

A Russian aircraft manufacturer is negotiating with Iran to assemble Tupolev passenger aircraft there, according to reports by Fars news agency. Iran's Minister of Roads and Transportation, Mohammad Rahmati, confirmed that preliminary talks are underway but he did not indicate which Russian company the country is negotiating with.

An agreement is yet to be signed to assemble Tupolev Tu-204 and Tu-214 passenger aircraft over the next decade. The contract is estimated to be worth over $2 billion. Iran's Defense Ministry is also expected to embark on a deal with Iran Air Tour Company to produce ten Iran-140 aircraft.....
