Cobham SATCOM, the leading manufacturer of Inmarsat aeronautical satellite communications equipment, will launch Cobham's lightest, smallest and lowest cost SwiftBroadband solution yet, the Cobham Satcom SB200, at the US National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) exhibition on 19 October.
Apart from its low weight, size and cost, the SB200 is unique because it is a stand-alone system, not requiring any navigational inputs from other equipment on board. It achieves this by combining GPS and Inmarsat antennas in the same package.
The SB200 system consists of a new omni-directional LGA-3000 antenna, a new SDU-7310 single channel satellite data unit and the proven HLD-7260 combined High Power Amplifier/Diplexer/Low Noise Amplifier.
"The Cobham SB200 system opens opportunities for installations to a wide range of new smaller aircraft, at a very affordable proce," said Cobham SATCOM Vice Presiden John DeSana.
The Cobham SwiftBroadband product range faciltates connectivity on aircaft, enabling data networks, internet access, email, fax and telephony. The compact and modulat products allow configurations to fit every size aircraft.
Conham SATCOM also produces an extensive rnage of market leading antennas that sets new standards in drag reduction, weight, compactness and power requirements for aircraft connectivity systems.
