OMA SUD SpA announces SKYCAR FAA Certification
Monday, 28 March 2011

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on last March 14 2011 issued type certificate number, A63CE, for the SKYCAR twin, thereby making available in USA GA Market the real and unique innovative multipurpose twin SKYCAR.

"I am fully satisfied with the achievement of this milestone so important in the life of OMA SUD" said Mr. Proietti Valter OMA SUD President and CEO "the FAA certification represents the completion of long research and development, innovation, testing (static and dynamic) and flight tests activities required for a certification at the international level. FAA validation of EASA certification represents the opportunity to enter the U.S. market which is most important one worldwide and will allow us to fully exploit the commercial office at Miami International Airport and the logistic base at Opa Locka Airport where already the company is operating. Special thanks, as well as OMA SUD technicians and skilled workers, should be addressed to the Ministry of Economic Development and representatives of offices that have enabled the SKYCAR project and ENAC officials who have worked since the beginning for EASA certification now validated by the FAA"

SKYCAR Overview

A closer look of the SKYCAR reveals the integration of the aerodynamic design with automotive layout and ergonomics. SKYCAR is a blend of high performance, excellent ergonometric and very large internal volume fuselage, together with a state of the art avionics, systems and design at a reasonable cost.

SKYCAR features a twin-boom empennage, twin vertical tail, high stabilator design combined with a high wing and two pusher mounted Lycoming engines. The twin boom configuration permits the SKYCAR to offer a rear door. This unique door allows direct loading of any cargo. Combine this loading flexibility with the additional benefit of the rear door being operable in flight, and the SKYCAR becomes an airborne delivery platform for medicine, clothing, food, and emergency rescue equipment. The end result is a clean central fuselage that can be adapted to a multitude of roles including tourism, training, cargo, medical evacuation, border patrol, air rescue and environmental monitoring. Whether your mission calls for a comfortable carriage for passengers, the delivery of a critical cargo, air ambulance and sky surveillance operation, the SKYCAR is an adaptable platform.

Day, night, VFR, IFR, paved runway or unprepared grass and dirt strips, the SKYCAR is an affordable solution to your mission needs.
