Integrated enterprise presents an integrated product

This year ANTONOV participates in Paris Air Show for the first time as an integrated enterprise established by merging "Aviant" Kyiv aviation plant into ANTONOV Aeronautic Scientific and Technical Complex. In that way, the integrated center of responsibility for design, production and after-sale support of ANTONOV aircraft was set up.

To the participants and visitors of the Paris Air Show ANTONOV presents the first product of the integrated enterprise – the AN-158 99-seat regional jet. Having completed the programme of the certification tests it started trials on widening the operational conditions. In February 2011, the AN-158 performed 16 flights in Iran. It has proved its ability to be operated from/to high-elevation airfields at a height of 2,200 m above sea level. The tests in the countries of Latin America on the airfields located at 4,000 m above sea level are forthcoming. It stems from the interest of the airlines in the region to use the AN-158. In accordance with potential customers' requirements, efforts for integration of the alternative equipment and engines are under way.

In the airlines fleets the AN-158 will become a worthy addition to its predecessor the AN-148, intended to carry 68-85 passengers. The AN-148 performed its first commercial flight on June 2, 2009. Nowadays, 8 such airplanes are in operation: 2 airplanes – in fleet of "AeroSvit" airlines (Ukraine) and 6 airplanes – in "Rossiya" airlines (Russian Federation). Besides, the first AN-148s are being delivered to "Polyot" airlines (Russian Federation). The AN-148s fly on more than 50 domestic and international routes. They have already carried about 450,000 passengers. The flying time of one aircraft is up to 260 hours per month.

Following the customers' demands, ANTONOV Company carries out further development of the AN-148 and AN-158 family, in particular the AN-168, the improved comfort version. The planned volume of sales of the AN-148/-158/-168 airplanes and their modifications of commercial and special purposes is about 500 units. To date agreements on delivery of 58 such airplanes have been signed, contracts on 178 aircraft are drawn up.

Besides the further development of the AN-148/-158/-168 family, ANTONOV will represent a number of other modern programmes including modernization and resumption of serial production of modernized version of "Ruslan" having got the AN-124-200 designation. This year Interstate Aviation Committee issued ANTONOV Company an annex to the Type certificate of the AN-124-100 and its modifications. This document confirms increase of project resource and life-time to 50.000 flight hours, 10.000 flights, 45 years. "Ruslan" has practically got the second life. Thus, they will be able to continue working in the market of air transportations of the large-sized, super heavy and non-standard cargoes that was formed with the AN-124 appearance. During many years this aircraft is the absolute leader in this niche having provided a non-stop fulfillment of the orders on delivery of cargoes worldwide. Just in 2011, the AN-124-100 "Ruslan" operated by "Antonov Airlines" carried about 16,000 t of cargoes.

Participating in "Paris Air Show'2011" "ANTONOV" intends to conduct a number of negotiations with the representatives of aviation industry of many countries of the world in order to discuss possible directions of cooperation including creation the new types of aviation technique.
