Now that work has been completed with wind tunnel testing, the engineers at Stratos Aircraft are adding refinements to the cabin area. Already configured to comfortably accommodate four NBA players in comfort with adjustable seats, the designers are taking advantage of the full length seat tracks to add an optional fifth seat, which would be place behind the co-pilot's seat.

That fifth seat area could also be used to install a chemical toilet. Dividers would provide limited privacy. All seats in the Stratos, and the toilet, can be installed or removed in about one minute. The Stratos cabin is wider at 4.7 ft/143 cm than most other VLJs and its length at 12.5 ft/143 cm is longer than some six seat aircraft. The volume of the cabin is what allows for options in seating configurations including club seating. All seats will recline to almost 45 degrees; have adjustable headrests along with armrests. Pilot and co-pilot seats will also have elevation adjustments.

A quiet cabin, often overlooked in design, has been a goal from the beginning at Stratos. In the early stages of engineering allowance was made with adequate volume and weight budgets to incorporate proper sound proofing materials. The aft cabin will have its own temperature control along with cup holders, power plugs, glove box, fresh air vents, LED reading light for each seat and there will be a variety of entertainment options that will be announced later.

As refinements are developed inside the cabin, work continues with structural analyses and testing of the wings, tail and fuselage.

The Stratos 714 is being designed to cruise at 400 knots and travel 1500 nautical miles at flight level 410 with four people seated in comfort.
