PS Engineering introduces new marker beacon receiver
Wednesday, 16 January 2008

PS Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce a product requested by their customers, a stand-alone, 3-light, 75 MHz Marker Beacon Receiver. The MB10 fills a need where the audio panel doesn't have an internal marker beacon receiver, or when a non-traditional audio panel is required.

The MB10 is available as either a panel mounted unit, or a remote mounted version. The panel-mounted unit can be installed horizontally or vertically. The remote mounted unit requires no panel space and is easy to install. Both units are 2 5/8" wide, 7/8" tall, and less than 5 inches long (behind the panel).

The panel version has three marker lamps and mode control on the unit. In addition to the lamps, the MB10 provides discrete outputs for both active high activation, and active low useful in driving electronic flight displays.

"The MB10 is a clean-sheet design for the marker beacon, but it incorporates all of the lessons learned over the last dozen years of production in receivers." Said Vice President of Engineering Steve Hudson, "the new design is more robust, has higher audio fidelity and easier to manufacture, so we look great things ahead in this little box. "

With more PFD and MFD instrument panels, PS Engineering, Inc has seen an increase in requests for a smaller audio panel. With the combination PMA4000 audio panel and the remote MB10, there is now an alternative to the standard audio panel configurations.

With the ILS System in place until at least 2015, PS Engineering sees continuing demand for this small but integral part of the system.

The list price of the MB10 is $595.00, and deliveries will begin in June, shortly after the FAA-TSO is granted.

Founded in 1985, PS Engineering has become a leading manufacturer of general aviation intercoms and audio control systems. With a network of over 600 authorized dealer/installers worldwide, the company is a leader in retrofit avionics as well as original aircraft equipment installation.
