Co-Operative Industries Aerospace & Defense (CIA&D) has achieved AS9100 Rev C certification, which also incorporates the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, for its Fort Worth facilities. Receipt of this certification corroborates CIA&D's Quality Management System (QMS) as applicable to the manufacturing of electrical wire harnesses, ignition leads, industrial metal hose / conduit, PTFE conduit assemblies, and flexible metal conduit assemblies for the aerospace, space, and defense industries.
CIA&D had previously been certified as AS9100 Rev B and elected to upgrade to Rev C to meet the aerospace industry's newest and highest standards of quality. Attaining this next level of certification is a part of the organization's ongoing effort of continually improving the effectiveness of their quality system and to meet or exceed customer requirements.
"As an organization, we are constantly striving to improve product quality and on-time delivery," stated Greg Carwile, CIA&D Management Representative. "The AS9100C goal of making significant improvements in quality and reducing cost throughout the work flow is a natural fit with CIA&D's commitment to customer satisfaction."
As a supplier of electrical cables and wiring harnesses, CIA&D supports a wide range of commercial aerospace programs. In addition to the AS9100C certification, CIA&D is also rated as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, and as such provides components to the defense industries primes. Product applications include the F-35 Lightning II, F-16 Falcon, F-15 Eagle, and a long roster of legacy programs.
AS9100C, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is an internationally recognized quality standard that is specific to the aviation, space, and defense sectors. Satisfying the rigorous requirements of this latest standard confirms CIA&D's quality management system's practices in regards to their manufacturing processes and procedures. AS9100 is the QMS standard for the aviation, space, and defense industries and is governed by the International Aerospace Quality Group's (IAQG) of SAE International. The audits were conducted by Intertek.
