EMRISE receives $1.2 million order for equipment to be used in in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems
EMRISE Corporation, a multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, announced today that it has received an order valued at approximately $1.2 million (750,000 pounds Sterling) for electronic devices to be used in In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFE&C) systems.
Shipment of the order, which was received from a longstanding customer by the Company's Pascall Electronics Ltd. subsidiary in England, will occur over a 12-month period starting in July 2012.
EMRISE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Carmine T. Oliva said, "This order is from a customer in the commercial aerospace market, which is becoming a growing market opportunity for our products that complements our long-standing military business.Ê We are seeing increases in demand for the use of EMRISE products in IFE&C applications.Ê At the same time, our IFE&C business is being enhanced by opportunities in other commercial markets we serve such as marine navigation and oil field exploration. We believe these commercial markets should continue to be important sources of revenue for us in the coming months."
Oliva noted that this order contributes to the backlog of orders the Company expects to ship later in 2012 and beyond.
