Apriso, the leading provider of manufacturing software solutions, today announced Spirit AeroSystems has purchased an Apriso solution, which will be used to increase collaboration while continuously improving their global manufacturing operations. Apriso's FlexNet, a next generation manufacturing execution system, will be implemented as an enterprise standard to help Spirit AeroSystems better manage resources, processes, and materials across production facilities located on three continents.
"Our IT strategy is to implement three standard platforms across our global enterprise. These platforms include our business enterprise platform (ERP), our product lifecycle platform (PLM) and now, with the Apriso's FlexNet, our global Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This investment in Apriso is expected to drive manufacturing process execution improvements and consistency, resulting in Spirit being more agile while continuing to drive our Management Operating System with enterprise performance metrics", said James Cocca, CIO at Spirit AeroSystems.
Spirit AeroSystems offers a highly diverse line of products and services for aerospace design, build, and aftermarket support. Apriso provides a solution that is flexible enough to address a wide range of production, assembly and build operations, yet also capable of managing business processes and standards.
"Apriso is quickly becoming the de facto leader in global manufacturing operations management when products include composites and other aerospace materials. We are very excited to enter into this strategic partnership with Spirit AeroSystems." explained Rick Gallisa, Industry Director at Apriso.
