28V, 32-channel, light-weight solid-state power controller

Data Device Corporation (DDC) introduces a new 32-Channel, Light-Weight Solid-State Power Controller. The RP-2032151XD0 provides a total continuous current output capacity of 120 amps at 28Vdc in a 3-lb box, along with a high channel count and advanced programmability. The RP-2032 product family offers users significant Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C) savings in addition to improved reliability and smart power control.

As the world's largest supplier of Solid-State Power Controllers (SSPCs), based on more than 500,000 nodes delivered and currently in-use, DDC was the first to offer commercial and fully-qualified MIL-PRF-38534 and Class K Space-level screening for SSPC products. DDC supplies Field-Proven, High-Reliability SSPCs for the Bradley Fighting Vehicles and the M1A2 tank, and is now entering the aerospace market with new light-weight products.

DDC's SSPCs support real-time digital status reporting and computer control, and are equipped with instant trip, and true I²T wire protection. We offer custom SSPC modules that are rated up to 300 amps continuous, and multi-channel boards that are rated up to 25 amps continuous per channel. Multi-channel boards using this technology are excellent cost effective solutions, as the price per channel is significantly reduced. Included in the SSPC product line are 270Vdc units with current ratings of 2 through 15 amps, 28Vdc units from 1 through 80 amps, and 115Vac units.

Benefits include:

• 32 Independent Load Channels

• 5A, 10A, 20A Rated Channels with 10:1 Programmability

• Total Continuous Current Output Capacity of 120 Amps

• Smart Power Management

• Network Control

• CANbus J1939, RS-485, or RS-422

• Permits Remote Status Monitoring and Control

• Programmability

• Current Trip Point and Channel Paralleling

• On/Off Defaults and Load Sequencing

• Load Health and Status Monitoring

• Voltage, Current, and SSPC Temperature

• Autonomous Alarms

• Performance & Reliability Advantages Compared with Electromechanical Breakers and Relays

• Reduced SWaP

• Higher Reliability and Longer Life

• Faster Clearance of Load Channel Faults

“By providing a high-channel count in a light-weight enclosure, the RP-2032151XD0 offers significant weight and integration savings, making it ideal for airborne vehicles and space conscious applications, while its advanced programmability allows for minimum inventories, thus providing additional cost savings”, stated Steve Rood Goldman, DDC's Marketing Manager.
