Curtiss-Wright Controls awarded contract by Irkut Corp

Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc. today announced that it has received a contract from Irkut Corporation to supply the flight data recording system for use on the MC-21 aircraft. Under the agreement, Curtiss-Wright Controls Avionics & Electronics (CWC-AE) division will provide Irkut with the MC-21's ISSKOR data recorder system, an integrated flight data acquisition, monitoring, processing and recording solution. The initial contract is valued at $21 million, with an estimated potential value in excess of $50 million over the life of the program. Shipment of the products is scheduled to begin in February 2015.

The agreement also strengthens our relationship with Irkut Corporation and expands our business in Russia, one of our key strategic growth regions.”

The Curtiss-Wright Controls CWC-AE division will be manufacturing the products covered by this agreement at its Christchurch, UK facility. The products will be shipped to Irkut in Moscow, Russia.
