LASELEC: built around innovation

LASELEC's frequent innovations have raised this company to a position of world leader in the conception of wire & cable marking machines for the aerospace and industrial sectors. These innovations are paving the way forward in this sector by developing new standards for industrial marking and by advancing the state of the technology which shapes the current and future markets.

In 2013, LASELEC pursued its policy of innovation and its dedication to development by bringing to market two new revolutionary types of equipment: the laser wire-stripping system known as the SYLADE 7, and the EasyWiring Interactive Harness Layout Board.

The SYLADE 7 allows safe and damage-free wire stripping, with easy-to-reproduce results on single and multi-core wires & cables. Compact, ergonomic, and fast, the SYLADE 7 combines the efficiency, quality and safety unique to laser technology with the reliability and user-friendliness which are the foundations of LASELEC's reputation. Totally automated, the laser system adapts its parameters for each cable to be stripped, with no need for calibration. The stripping of a cable, including loading and unloading, can be done in just a few seconds. The SYLADE 7 handles numerous types of electrical cables (including those jacketed in PTFE, FEB, and polyamide, among others). The innovative aspect of the SYLADE rests in the laser's design. Conceived entirely by the R&D team at LASELEC in Toulouse, this laser is based on a breakthrough technology allowing for the miniaturization of the system and opening the door to an extremely compact wire-stripping laser designed to replace thermal wire-stripping devices and handheld mechanical wire-strippers used by thousands in various industries.

LASELEC's EasyWiring Interactive Harness Layout Board is bringing wire harness production to the 21st century. Gone are the days of wire schematics printed on paper—say hello to a dynamic display of information to help guide the cabling process during the fabrication of an electrical harness. Putting the Interactive Wire Harness Layout Board into operation is quick and easy. LASELEC is offering a complete setup including the display device, computer-aided manufacturing software, and moveable supports in different shapes adaptable to all types of harness. This dynamic wire harness layout table provides an important gain in productivity, guarantees the traceability of your cabling operations, and allows a complete mastery of your product.

Laser wire marking

The identification of electrical cables by UV laser, widely used in civil and military programs for over 25 years, is also increasingly used by industrial sectors across the board because it assures an indelible mark and does not damage the insulation of the wire. The ULYS Modena & MRO 200 laser markers are controlled by computer; they are entirely automated and offer traceability functions. They are simple to use, reliable, and high-performance. The ULYS Modena series responds perfectly to the needs of aircraft manufacturers and their sub-contractors. The entry level machine of this line, the ULYS 110 Modena, is adapted to modest levels of production and can be upgraded according to your needs until it reaches the unparalleled productivity of the ULYS 990-SL Modena.

Centers of maintenance, repair and overhaul of both aircraft and trains are also increasingly interested in this technology. The MRO 200 series was developed by LASELEC to respond more specifically to their needs. Designed for low and medium-level production and one-off jobs, this line of marking machines could come in useful in modifications and it is aimed at small workshops. Its system for de-reeling and cutting the cable is robust and reliable, and it guaranties the integrity of the wire's insulation.

Another fundamental advantage of direct marking by UV laser is the reduction of the cabling weight, which goes on to lower the weight of the electrical appliance as a whole and allows the users to reduce their energy costs. The direct marking of cables has already progressively replaced heat-shrink sleeving in aerospace manufacturing. Cabling workshops for industrial vehicles and high-end automobiles, as well as workshops for competition and rally vehicles, and even armored vehicles also benefit from LASELEC equipment which takes into account their particular needs. The railway industry is also moving in this direction; this is the case for Bombardier Transportation in the USA and certain sub-contractors of Alstom in Russia, for example.

LASELEC worldwide

LASELEC's laser wire marking and wire stripping equipment, laser diodes driver and interactive wire harness layout board are widely used in the programs of major manufacturers of aircraft, trains, boats, and nuclear power plants: Agusta Westland, Alstom, Airbus, BAE Systems, Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Bombardier, CEA, Cern, Cessna, Changhe Aircraft, EADS, Embraer, Eurocopter, Gulfstream, HAL, Keystone Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, Mig, NASA, Northrop Grumman, Shanghai Aircraft, Shenyang Aircraft, Sikorsky…

LASELEC, which makes over 80% of its revenue abroad, is highly invested in Asia and in the Americas. Present in India since 2004, LASELEC's marking machines equip the biggest buyers in India.

The reliability of LASELEC products & the quality of its customer service are globally recognized, especially in Japan where the company has located a new Customer Support office in 2011. Several large Japanese groups have demonstrated their confidence in LASELEC: FHI, Jamco, MHI, Sanyu, Sumitomo, etc.

The LASELEC company is looking into the creation of a Customer Support office in China, with a stock of replacement parts. LASELEC has numerous clients in this country, among them Gameco, Haeco, Lode Technology, Shanghai Aircraft, Changhe Aircraft, Shenyang Aircraft, etc.

LASELEC is, moreover, well represented in the Americas thanks to the excellent quality of its products and to the Customer Support Services offered by LASELEC Inc, from its branches in Dallas and Querétaro.
