On August 20, 2014, Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. and Airbus Americas, Inc. commemorated their ten-year partnership at the Recaro facility in Fort Worth.

“We are proud of the long-time and strong partnership with Airbus Americas, Inc. We have been supplying seats to the aircraft manufacturer from this location in Fort Worth for ten years now. The plant has delivered more than 40,000 seats to Airbus so far”, said Sunitha Vegerla, General Manager of Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc., on the occasion of the event.

David Williams, Vice President Procurement, Airbus Americas, Inc., added: “Airbus and Recaro have been partners for many years providing great products to our customers. We look forward to working together for many more years.”

At the moment Recaro in Fort Worth primarily supplies seats for Airbus single-aisle aircraft. “With the new Airbus assembly line in Mobile, Alabama, we hope to grow this relationship to support all functions of Airbus Americas from our U.S plant”, stated Sunitha Vegerla. “Recaro in Fort Worth currently has over 400 employees.

Our mission is to be the best seat manufacturer from our customers' perspective.”

The Recaro facility in the U.S. is one of four locations worldwide where aircraft seats are manufactured and delivered directly to the global customers. One of the most important steps in developing the U.S. site was completed one year ago with doubling the production space from 108,000 to 248,000 square feet. The expansion became necessary following the company's successful work and numerous orders from airlines in North and South America. “Over the past years, we have received a number of large orders from this market for our successful BL3520 product. By boosting our manufacturing capacity up to more than 40,000 seats per year, Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. becomes the largest facility in the Recaro network in terms of output. This gives us the flexibility and strength we need to serve our customers in the Americas”, said Dr. Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer of Recaro Aircraft Seating. Additionally, the Recaro facility in Texas will continue to produce seats for customers in Europe and Asia.
