Pro Line Fusion® for AVIC’s MA-700 regional airliner will feature four 14-inch widescreen LCD displays with pilot configurable windows, interactive graphical maps and geo-referenced electronic navigation

Rockwell Collins' Pro Line Fusion advanced avionics, HGS-3500 selected for AVIC's new MA-700 regional airliner

Rockwell Collins' Pro Line Fusion® advanced avionics system has been selected by Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) for its new MA-700 regional airliner. The MA-700, a twin turboprop that follows the development of the MA-60 and MA-600 Xian Modern Ark family of aircraft, is expected to enter into service in 2019.

AVIC also selected Rockwell Collins' HGS™-3500 Head-up Guidance System—an innovative, all-in-one compact head-up display (HUD) solution—as an airline-selectable option for the MA-700. The recently released “China HUD Application Roadmap” calls for ten percent of in-service airline fleets to be equipped with HUDs by 2015, and on all airline aircraft where a HUD is offered by 2025.

“We're honored that AVIC is continuing to put their trust in Rockwell Collins to provide advanced and reliable avionics systems for their aircraft,” said Craig Olson, vice president and general manager, Business and Regional Systems, Rockwell Collins. “Pro Line Fusion, especially when coupled with the HGS-3500, delivers a new level of sophistication by helping pilots better manage, monitor and master flight automation, resulting in a safer and more efficient flying experience.”

Pro Line Fusion for the MA-700 empowers regional airline crews by delivering extensive situational awareness through an intuitive graphical user interface. The flight deck equips airlines with a broad range of operational capabilities including:

• Four interchangeable 14-inch widescreen flight displays to optimize dispatchability

• MultiScan™ weather radar with predictive windshear capability, providing unprecedented atmospheric threat assessment capabilities

• Pilot-configurable primary and multifunction display windows that can show any system information, flight-critical data and synoptic diagrams of aircraft system information

• Interactive graphical maps with weather overlays, obstacles, and geopolitical boundaries

• Built-in, geo-referenced electronic navigation charts that display “own-ship” aircraft position for enhanced situational awareness during approaches that easily transitions to the airport diagram after landing to make surface navigation easier

• Fully-featured flight management system positions airlines for airspace modernization with localizer performance with vertical navigation (LPV) approach capability and radius-to-fix (RF) legs

“Rockwell Collins has had a multi-decade history with AVIC, starting with the Y7-100 program,” said Zhang Cunjin, vice president, AVIC's Xi'an Aircraft Company. “Through this long-term cooperation, the foundation has been set for our companies to build upon our past successes.”

Rockwell Collins Pro Line II™ and Pro Line 21™ avionics systems are featured on the MA-60 and MA-600 aircraft. According to Jim Walker, vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific for Rockwell Collins, AVIC's Pro Line Fusion selection is a reflection of Rockwell Collins' 30-year investment in China and dedication to valued customers such as AVIC.
