CTA will organize next October, the 12th annual Workshop of the Aeroacoustics Specialists´ Committee of the Council of European Aerospace Societies (CEAS) and the 3rd Scientific Workshop of the European Excellence Network in Aeroacoustics X3-Noise on the topic of "Turbomachinery Broadband Noise". The international meeting will be held the 23-24th of October in the Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao and will meet 150 specialists in aeroacoustics coming from Europe, the United States and other countries.

Held every year, the 2008´s edition of this workshop will present in this Basque city the scientific works of experts, with the purpose of interchanging experiences to reach an optimal exploitation of the decisive advances in the investigation of the noise in the aircraft to the scientific community and companies working in aeronautical applications and other areas of engineering of the noise.

CEAS, acronym of Council of European Aerospace Societies, is the Association of National Societies formed by excellent individual professionals coordinated by a director. CEAS includes 9 societies members -where is the Association of Aeronautics Engineers of Spain (AIAE)-, with 25,000 individual members. These societies represent the knowledge leader in the field of the aeronautics and the astronautics in their respective countries.

The Committee of Aeroacoustics Specialists, ASC, integrated in CEAS, was born on 1995 to support the European Community of scientists and aeroacoustics companies. The organization of symposiums and workshops, as it is the case of the next organized by CTA this year in Bilbao, looks for the cooperation with other European specialists in this area of work and maintains closer links with the Technical Committee of Aeroacoustics of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA-IATC).

The Aeroacoustics Specialists´ Committee is made up of companies, universities and research centres of first level in this matter, such as Qinetiq, NLR Acoustic, DLR, Onera, INTA, CIRA, Trinity Collage, KTH, École Centrale de Lyon, University of Southampton, National Technical University of Athens, CTA, National University of Aviation of Kiev or the IAI. Last scientific workshops were placed in Athens (2002), Prague (2003), Budapest (2004), Stockholm (2005), Dublin (2006) and Lisbon (2007).
