Fokker Elmo, a business unit of Fokker Technologies and SASMOS HET Technologies Ltd. have taken the opportunity of the AeroIndia show in Bangalore to formally inaugurate their joint venture for the production of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for aircraft and engines, thus supporting the “Make in India” policy. The Dutch Ambassador in India, representatives of the Indian authorities, Customers and Board members of Fokker Technologies and SASMOS have attended the ceremony. Fokker Elmo customers were closely involved and supportive from the start of this project. The Joint Venture will start with production of EWIS for the Boeing Company.

The inauguration has taken place at the Joint Venture facility in Whitefield, Bangalore. The current SASMOS facility employs more than 250 employees. The Joint Venture enables optimized operations and further growth recognizing that the Indian aviation market is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic aviation markets in the world today. Aircraft manufacturers need Indian Industrial Participation, which presents excellent business development opportunities for the Fokker Elmo SASMOS Joint Venture to successfully support current and future customers.
