AFGlobal facilities receive certification for aerospace
Wednesday, 11 November 2015

AFGlobal Corporation today announced that its Steel Industries facilities in Michigan received AS9100 Rev C certification from the PRI Registrar for demonstrating its ongoing commitment to quality by satisfying customer requirements of the aerospace industry specifications. This achievement positions AFGlobal for growth in the aerospace industry, and boosts the Company's number of certified facilities to eight.

The latest certification covers forging, machining, assembling, heat treatment and testing processes. Along with its NADCAP certification for heat treatment, AS9100 certification gives the Company a solid foundation for meeting the stringent requirements of the aerospace sector.

"AS9100 certification will open new doors for AFGlobal in the aerospace market, allowing us to further expand our growing base of business," commented Michael Dill, President of AFGlobal's Aerospace, Industrial and Power Generation businesses. He continued, "We will now offer aerospace customers true, vertical integration within one portfolio -- from forging, machining, welding, fabrication, assembly and testing -- to address their most challenging requirements and streamline their supply chain. We are honored to have earned this important certification."

"AFGlobal has demonstrated its commitment to world-class quality by implementing and becoming certified to the AS9100 standard. They have joined an elite number of organizations worldwide who have achieved certification for this globally recognized quality standard," said Randy Daugharthy, Director of the Registrar Program at the Performance Review Institute Registrar. "PRI Registrar is proud to partner with AFGlobal in this accomplishment and look forward to continued support of their objective of quality excellence."

AFGlobal's Steel Industries group has five plants in the Detroit area and produces large open die forgings and seamless rolled rings for nearly every industry. Established in 1913, Steel Industries also offers state-of-the-art heat treating (Nadcap certified for aluminum, stainless and nickel alloys) and two machining facilities.
