Hurkus earns type certificate

EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and Turkish DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) Design Organisation Approval (DOA) holder Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI), is awarded by DGCA with the "TT32 Aircraft Type Certificate" for its Trainer Aircraft Hurkus which is also validated by EASA with EASA Validation Type Certificate.

During Type Certification process EASA CS23 airworthiness requirements; applicable environmental protection requirements and additional high performance aircraft special condition requirements have been verified by DGCA and EASA.

Hurkus is the first Turkish indigeneous aircraft which has been certified by EASA. On the other hand, it is the very first time that EASA certifies a canopy fracturing system and ejection seat in one single aircraft.

Hurkus is a single turboprop engine, two-seat, pressurized training aircraft designed and manufactured by TAI.

In order to perform these training stages; the aircraft is equipped with the standard aircraft systems, cabin pressure, pilot escape system, oxygen system and advanced avionics. Hurkus is designed to meet the requirements of EASA CS 23 for day/night visual flight rules/instrument flight rules (VFR/IFR) operations in normal and aerobatic categories.

HÜRKUŞ is the most recently designed trainer aircraft in its class and its design reflects the advantages of it in terms of requirements gathering and technology based applications.

HÜRKUŞ is primarily designed to be a trainer however it also provides a very good baseline for future versions with customized avionics and external stores.
