CubCrafters selects Hartzell Trailblazer prop for flagship XCub
Monday, 25 July 2016

Hartzell Propeller's composite swept tip Trailblazer prop and CubCrafters XCub were made for each other. Hartzell announced today at EAA AirVenture that CubCrafters had picked the Trailblazer as standard equipment on its newest Flagship the XCub.

"Like the XCub itself, Hartzell's Trailblazer props are lighter, faster and stronger than any competitor," said CubCrafters CEO Jim Richmond. "That is why we paired the 180 horsepower Lycoming 0-360 with a Hartzell Trailblazer composite propeller. The combination helps make the XCub a winner."

The unlimited life Hartzell Trailblazer features a field replaceable nickel-cobalt leading edge, ensuring it can withstand demanding backcountry and bush flying. Due to its incredible strength and light weight, the all carbon fiber construction permits Hartzell to optimize blade chord thickness and sweep while achieving maximum strength.

"Without a doubt, if you are into backcountry and bush flying, then the Trailblazer constant speed prop is the only way to travel," said Hartzell President Joe Brown. "The strong structural composite construction of the Trailblazer and its sleek aerodynamic design clearly boosts performance, so important to those of us who have a passion for STOL performance and remote airstrips."

CubCrafters XCub, its newest flagship aircraft, received FAA Type Certification this past June and is on display at the CubCrafters Exhibit at EAA AirVenture, July 2016. In addition, Hartzell Propeller exhibits a Trailblazer propeller and other composite technology props.

Trailblazer swept-tip propellers maximize performance of numerous aircraft, both certified and amateur built, specifically designed for bush and backcountry flying. The two-blade version is compatible with most Lycoming 360 and 390 series engines, requires no placards or restrictions, and is not RPM limited.
