Beechcraft announces 2017 American Bonanza Society Sport Package
Wednesday, 27 July 2016

Beechcraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company, yesterday announced an American Bonanza Society (ABS) Sport Package option for the Beechcraft Bonanza G36 at Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture. The factory option includes a custom interior and paint scheme that will be available starting in 2017 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the American Bonanza Society and the 70th anniversary of the longest continuously produced aircraft in history, the Beechcraft Bonanza.

Doug May, vice president, Piston Aircraft, made the announcement and debuted an interior mockup at the ABS annual meeting Tuesday evening, during EAA AirVenture.

“Beechcraft is thrilled to partner with the American Bonanza Society on this custom option to offer its members a commemorative and striking design for their aircraft,” May said. “We are excited to strengthen our relationship with the American Bonanza Society and continue our long track record of bringing state-of-the-art improvements to the Beechcraft Bonanza.”

The custom paint scheme incorporates the classic red and black Beechcraft colors with the ABS logo on the tail. The interior features black leather seats with contrast red stitching and the Beechcraft “B” and ABS logos throughout the cabin.

The Bonanza is the longest continuously produced aircraft in history with more than 18,000 units delivered to date. Continued refinement and improvement has allowed the Bonanza to reach new heights in comfort and capability. The Bonanza G36 is a six-seat piston aircraft with a cabin almost a third larger than its nearest competitor. Powered by a 300-horsepower Continental IO-550-B engine and a three-blade constant-speed propeller, the Bonanza G36 has a maximum cruise speed of 176 knots, a maximum range of more than 860 nautical miles, a 1,038-pound maximum payload and a 18,500-foot service ceiling. The glass cockpit features Garmin G1000 avionics with synthetic vision technology, satellite weather datalink and a GFC 700 flight control system, making the Bonanza G36 the most capable Bonanza yet.
