NORDAM Transparency Group COO T. Hastings Siegfried today announced a new $10 million, 15-year contract as the exclusive supplier of front and lower cockpit windows for the recently unveiled Airbus Helicopters H160.
Under the agreement, NORDAM's U.S. Transparency facility, 7018 N. Lakewood Ave., will manufacture 50 shipsets to contain four rotorcraft transparencies: two lateral and two nose windows, the latter of which boasts one of the largest continuous viewing areas in the helicopter industry.
“To say we're proud about the inaugural award of production business assigned to NORDAM by Airbus Helicopters would be an understatement,” Siegfried said. “Being the exclusive supplier for key transparencies on this cutting-edge new rotorcraft speaks to the confidence Airbus has in us to consistently meet quality and delivery demands.”
The Airbus Helicopters H160 is designed as a medium duty helicopter, filling the range between the manufacturer's existing, 4-ton-class, twin-engine H145 and the recent super-medium H175. The H160 is currently in a testing and certification phase, with first deliveries to customers expected in 2018.
