Beaver Aerospace & Defense upgrades machining center with 2 new 4-axis ecoMill 1100 V Mori Seiki machines
Tuesday, 16 August 2016

Beaver Aerospace & Defense, a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries (PSI) and global leader in the design and manufacturing of a broad-range of custom ball screws for commercial and military aircraft, announced today that it has upgraded its machining center with two new 4-axis ecoMill 1100 V Mori Seiki machines.

The mill machines produce up to 12,000 RPM of high-speed machining capabilities, with industry-leading .0001 tolerances. Both are equipped with direct drive rotary tables (DDRTs), allowing parts to be completed with a one-step setup process, and can handle parts up to 40" x 20". In addition, both machines provide 30 tool slots and allow 3D designs to be loaded into the controls.

“Beaver Aerospace & Defense is proud to upgrade our machining center capabilities,” said Ben Kearns, general manager at Beaver Aerospace & Defense, Inc. “With these technology investments, we are able to increase the speed, accuracy and part processing size for our customers, which reduces their overall costs.”

Beaver’s award-winning ball screws, electromechanical actuators, ball splines and gears can fit virtually any application, and are known throughout the aerospace and defense industries for their reliable quality, precision and performance. Beaver is also a certified FAA Repair Station that offers expert repair, overhaul and testing services for all electromechanical actuators and ball screws.
