Tods turns up the heat on the aircraft flooring business

To substantially increase their manufacturing capacity for aircraft structural flooring, Tods Aerospace have commissioned a fourth industrial autoclave system, and have further extended the associated clean room area, at their Crewkerne production facilities. Ê

The Company, which produces a diverse of range of lightweight composite material floor sections for both civil and military aircraft, has a buoyant order book and is currently fulfilling contracts for new and retrofit projects in Europe, North Africa, the United States and the Far East. Ê

On commissioning the new facility, Richard Winterbottom, Operations Director Tods Aerospace said: " We have a projected production cycle spanning the next few years and it is essential that we comply with 'on-time' delivery schedules. The installation of a fourth autoclave curing process, and a fifth unit is on order, is part and parcel of a roll-out investment programme to ensure we retain our well fought position as a key specialist in the international aerospace supply chain"
