Web Industries inaugurates "Aerospace" as division's new name at JEC World 2018
Tuesday, 6 March 2018

Prompted by a booming aircraft industry's increasing needs for precision formatted composite materials, Web Industries has changed the name of its Advanced Composites division to Aerospace division. The announcement was made by Web Industries Vice President Corporate Development Kevin Young in conjunction with the company's exhibit at JEC World 2018, Paris, France.

According to Young, the majority of composite advancements are currently taking place in the aerospace industry. "By renaming our composites division Aerospace, we are giving the marketplace a clear message and expectation of how we are dedicated to serving it," he says.

A new logo and customer promise accompany the name change. Web Industries' "Ingenuity with a personal touch" reflects the business' pledge to develop innovative, custom-designed solutions for its customers in order to satisfy their unique composite formatting challenges.

"We engage with our aerospace clients at the earliest stages of component design," Young notes, "and we partner on composite materials selection and formatting to arrive at optimal manufacturing and application processes. Ultimately, we enable aerospace manufacturers to shorten their supply chain, drain time and costs from manufacturing operations, free warehousing space and restore critical human resources to tasks within their core competencies."

Young adds that Web Industries has an enormous depth of composite formatting experience. "This empowers us to work with customers at the most fundamental levels," he says, "ranging from quality, certification and production rights--on through to receipt of formatted materials prepared and ready for component manufacture."

The name change follows Web Industries' 2017 launch of its Thermoplastic Composite Development and Qualification Center in Atlanta and complements the company's latest aerospace product development, the new SpoolKit logistics solution. The Development Center allows aerospace materials suppliers and OEMs to take greater advantage of thermoplastics' capabilities. The SpoolKit consolidates formatted composites in a single container in the order with which they will be used by aerospace OEM customers.

At the show, Web industries occupies Stand M16 in Hall 5. Members of the press are invited to meet with Web Industries engineers and managers to discuss its new products and European facilities, and to understand the company's vision for formatted aerospace composite materials.
