Centurion develops further markets in Eastern Europe and Asia
Friday, 3 July 2009

CENTURION has obtained approval for the Russian aviation fuel TS-1. Thus economical CENTURION engines can now be operated immediately in Russia and the former Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

"When it comes to worldwide deployment of CENTURION engines, there is hardly a place in the world where this is no longer the case," explained CENTURION chairman of the board Jasper M. Wolffson. "With this certification we can open up a huge new market with enormous potential." Apart from in Russia, TS-1 – the Russian specification for kerosene – is used in nearly all of the countries of the former Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Until now CENTURION engines were already certified for DIN EN 590 diesel and the kerosene variants Jet A, Jet A 1, JP 8, JP 8 100 and Chinese Fuel No. 3.

In addition, the CENTURION 2.0 engine received type approval in accordance with federal aviation regulations in Japan and Taiwan as well. With approvals in these attractive sales territories the CENTURION 2.0 is now certified in a total of 60 countries throughout the world.

Since introduction of the CENTURION 2.0 in the year 2007 more than 1,000 engines of this type have been installed in Piper, Cessna, Robin and Diamond aircraft. Not only private customers, but particularly flight schools appreciate the economical consumption offered by this kerosene/diesel engine. All in all the CENTURION 2.0 engines have already completed more than 300,000 flying hours.
