Boeing to showcase partnerships and capabilities at Seoul Air Show; Rotorcraft Vice President to brief AH-64D Apache Block III status

The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] will highlight its partnerships with Korean industry as it presents the company's leading-edge commercial and defense technologies and capabilities at the 2009 Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition, starting Oct. 20 at Seoul Airport.

"Boeing's presence at the show underscores our longstanding support for the Republic of Korea's military forces and our strong relationship with the country's airlines," said Bill Oberlin, president of Boeing Korea. "It also affords Boeing the opportunity to highlight the strength of our partnerships with local industry."

Boeing, a co-sponsor for the show's opening ceremony, also will present one media briefing on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 2:30 p.m. Seoul time. Al Winn, vice president of Apache programs for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), will provide an update on Boeing's AH-64 Apache program, including the status of Apache Block III, and will be available to discuss all Boeing Rotorcraft programs, including CH-47 Chinook, V-22 Osprey and the company's new light attack/reconnaissance helicopter.

The show's flying demonstrations will feature the following Boeing IDS products: the new F-15K Slam Eagle, the most advanced fighter jet in service with the Republic of Korea Air Force; the multirole AH-64D Apache combat helicopter; and the versatile C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft. A U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet will be on static display.

The Boeing exhibit will feature IDS products including the CH-47 Chinook helicopter, the F-15 Silent Eagle fighter, the 737 Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) "Peace Eye" aircraft, and other network-centric systems.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) will allow show attendees to "fly" a 787 simulator from a representation of the new airplane's flight deck. A 1/20 scale cutaway model of the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental will also be on display. In addition, interactive kiosks will provide information on the commercial unit's training, flight and maintenance services.
