The fuselage of the second prototype IL-112V aircraft delivered to TsAGI
Friday, 28 December 2018

The third stage of transportation of elements of the light military transport aircraft IL-112V (0102) from Voronezh to Zhukovsky has been completed. IL-112V's fuselage was delivered at the Central Aero-Hydrodynamic Institute named after Professor Zhukovsky.

The transportation of aircraft elements was carried out in several stages. At the first stage – a stabilizer, aileron, flap, as well as several dozen containers with smaller parts of the aircraft structure were delivered from VASO to TsAGI; on the second – the wing section of the aircraft. The transportation was carried out at night. Oversized cargo moved from Voronezh to Zhukovsky on road trains, accompanied by traffic police.

The specialists of PJSC -IL- and TsAGI will have to assemble the airframe in the hall of static and resource tests of the Institute. Then the airframe will be ready for the isolated tests of individual units and full-scale static-resource research. Then the assembled airframe will be installed on a special stand, on which the loads on the aircraft will be simulated in all modes and numerous parameters will be recorded that characterize the behavior of the aircraft and its elements.

The tests of the aircraft are carried out at TsAGI to confirm design solutions in terms of static and fatigue strength. The aircraft will be subjected to multiple loads simulating at least 5,000 flights. Experiments will last about two years. Earlier, tests of structural elements of the IL-112V aircraft were completed in TsAGI, which confirmed the possibility of beginning flight tests of the aircraft.
