An aerospace engineering company has been honoured with a Queen's Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

Woodford Engineering Consultancy is one of only 200 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise, Britain's most coveted commercial prize. Announced today (Tuesday 23rd April). Woodford Engineering Consultancy has been recognised for its excellence in international trade.

Employing over 50 people in Manchester and Bristol, Woodford Engineering Consultancy was set up in 2008 and provides aircraft systems design, development, safety and certification services to the aerospace industry.

Commercial Director David Bradshaw said "We are honoured to receive this most prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise. It is testament to the value of the skills and expertise of our engineering staff. We are proud to be a part of the UK's continuing capability in high-value design: a capability which is in demand globally. In particular we thank our European partners and customers whose ongoing recognition of the value of our expertise has made this award possible."

Now in its 53rd year, the Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen's Awards emblem for the next five years.

Woodford Engineering will celebrate its award during a royal reception for Queen's Awards winners in the summer.
