On October 29th, 2019, the U.S. Pentagon announced that it had inked a $34 billion contract with Lockheed Martin for the next generation of Lockheed's F-35 fighter jet. The order from the U.S Department of Defense is for 478 jets - the biggest deal to date between the two sides.
