The first flight prototype of the IL-96-400M aircraft was handed over to the final assembly workshop. So far, the docking of the fuselage and wing consoles have been completed. The next step is the installation of aircraft control systems and the installation of the interior.

“Work on the program for creating a new IL-96-400M passenger aircraft is on schedule. The production of the prototype is planned to be completed by the end of the year. After that, he will be transferred for ground and flight tests. The first flight of the IL-96-400M is scheduled for 2021, ”said Yuri Grudinin, Director General of the UAC Transport Aviation Division, General Director of Il JSC.

The promising airliner Il-96-400M will consist of Russian components. As a power plant will be used engines of domestic production PS-90A1. Modern flight-navigation and radio communication equipment will allow fulfilling the current and future requirements of the international aviation authorities for navigation, surveillance and communication systems.

The passenger cabin of a promising aircraft can be produced in three basic versions: three-class and two-class layout for 305 and 350 seats, respectively; a charter option in a single-class version with 402 seats is also possible. Features of the cabin are the comfortable seating of passengers in accordance with international requirements. It is possible to divide the cabin into salons of various classes of service.

The new aircraft is created as a modification of the commercially available IL-96-300 with the addition of a type certificate and will maintain high reliability indicators of its predecessor.
