PAS Technologies mourns death of Robert Weiner, President & CEO

It is with great sadness that PAS Technologies announces the sudden passing of its President and CEO, Robert Weiner. Bob passed away Tuesday morning, May 11 unexpectedly. He was 58.

"We are deeply saddened by Bob's untimely death and join the company's management and employees in expressing our sympathy to his wife, son, daughter, mother, family and friends, who now bear such a great loss," said Marsha Farmer, PAS Technologies' Director of Communications. "Bob was a true visionary and an outstanding leader. While we mourn his passing, we are fortunate to have known him as a friend and business colleague, and we are grateful for all his contributions. Through his compassion and tenacity he inspired all of us to be our best."

PAS Technologies' employees are feeling the loss of a friend and colleague, whose leadership, guidance, and dedication, will be greatly missed. Weiner will be remembered for his significant contributions to the company's development, growth and vision.

"All of us are profoundly saddened by the loss of Bob Weiner," commented Gene Conese, Managing Director and Co-founder of Gridiron Capital LLC. "He was a dear friend and one of the finest people I have ever known. Professionally, his leadership and passion to make PAS Technologies a success were remarkable. He will be sorely missed."

Bob was a recognized expert in Lean Six Sigma production strategies with more than 35 years of holding senior level positions. In 2006, he joined PAS Technologies as President and CEO following Gridiron Capital's purchase of the business from Praxair and led the global expansion efforts that included the acquisition of Sifco Industrial Turbine Component Repair Business in 2007, and several other strategic additions and expansions all of which increased the Company's global footprint. He successfully instituted sustainable 'best practices' in areas of product development, quality, and customer satisfaction. Bob's legacy of problem solving and resolution through the formation and utilization of multi-faceted teams will continue to be a strategy employed by his colleagues. In addition, Bob served with United Technologies Corporation's Pratt & Whitney Division, General Electric Company, SKF and Phelps Dodge, Chemtura Corporation's Supply Chain Operations, and Exide Technologies. He was an alumnus from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and Loyola College of Maryland.

Being the leader and visionary that he was, Bob always ran PAS as a world-class company, and as such he had a succession plan in place. PAS Technologies' Board of Directors has appointed Phil Milazzo as CEO effective immediately.

Phil joined the PAS Technologies team in 2006 as Senior Vice President of Operations with all worldwide plants reporting to him and he was an instrumental part in driving the LEAN culture at PAS. In 2008 Phil was promoted to Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing and retained responsibility for engineering and new repair development strategy. Prior to joining PAS, Phil and Bob worked together for 10 years. Phil and the members of the company's Executive Leadership Team wish to assure all customers and suppliers that the company will continue to provide industry leading products and customer service to carry on with Bob's legacy in providing world-class service.
