Liebherr-Aerospace selected for the new Chinese aircraft program C919

Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, (Germany), has been selected by Commercial Aircraft Company of China (COMAC), based in Shanghai, to develop, supply and service for the landing gear system of the new single aisle Chinese aircraft family C919.

Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH will enter within this aircraft program into a joint venture with the Chinese AVIC company Landing-gear Advanced Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (LAMC) in Changsha, Province of Hunan.

The landing gear system includes the main landing gear and nose landing gear, extension and retraction system, nose wheel steering system as well as the position and warning system.

The selection of Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH is proof for the competence of Liebherr-Aerospace as a supplier of competitive, future-orientated landing gears within in the field of commercial transport aircraft. This new program participation is also a possibility to further broaden the expertise in this field of technology.Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH is the centre of competence for landing gear systems within the Aerospace and Transportation Systems division of the Liebherr Group. The landing gears, developed and produced in Lindenberg, are integrated in different aircraft types, which makes Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH one of the most experienced supplier of these integrated systems in the market.

Liebherr-Aerospace's long term relationship with China

Liebherr-Aerospace is already participating in the C919 with the complete air management system, developed and supplied by Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Toulouse (France), sister company of Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH.

The C919 is not the first Chinese program for which Liebherr-Aerospace provides its systems: It is already on board the regional jet program ARJ21 with the landing gear system supplied by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH and the air management system, provided by Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS.

For more than three decades, the Liebherr Group has been active in China and has with its presence a long history, which stands for the quality of exchanges and partnerships
