AgustaWestland AW119Ke obtains Russian civil certification
AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that the AW119Ke single engine helicopter has been awarded civil certification in Russia. This adds to the civil certification already received for the AW109 Power and the Grand light twin models in Russia. Orders for nine AW119Ke helicopters have been placed by Russian customers so far and significant further opportunities are forecast in Russia. Three helicopters have now been delivered and three more will be delivered within the next six months. The AW119Ke 2.8 ton helicopter is the top-of-the-range helicopter in the single engine market and has excellent performance, even in hot and high operating environments. The AW119 Ke has a 3.45 m3 (121 ft3) cabin which can comfortably seat six passengers and fly over 500 nm with reserves. Not only does the AW119Ke have the largest cabin in its class it also has a large 0.95 m3 (33 ft3) baggage compartment. The AW119Ke is the only single engine helicopter that has a cabin separate from the cockpit, offering the space and comfort that can only be provided by more expensive light twin aircraft. The AW119Ke is the ideal solution in the single engine segment for the Russian market particularly for VIP/corporate transport and for operators who need a fast, spacious, reliable and cost/effective aircraft to perform corporate transport, pipeline / electric power line monitoring or utility missions. For VIP/corporate transport tasks, nothing comes close to the AW119Ke in terms of maximum speed, range and comfort. The AW119Ke has also found incredible success worldwide for other applications including EMS and offshore transport. Orders for the AW119 have now reached nearly 190 in approximately 30 countries with almost 90 customers to perform a number of roles.
