Today, during a short ceremony held at the Quebec Aerospace Association Annual Convention, Bombardier Aerospace will announce over 20 Canadian suppliers have been selected for the CSeries and Learjet 85 aircraft programs. Representatives from each company will be on hand for an official photo.

"Its fantastic that many of the suppliers selected for our new aircraft programs are based in Canada, including a significant number here in Quebec - the hub of Canada's aerospace industry," said Jean Seguin, Vice President, Engineering and Supply Chain, Bombardier Aerospace. "Bombardier's new aircraft programs continue to leverage the Canadian aerospace industry. Additional suppliers have yet to be selected for the 3,000 to 4,000 parts remaining to be sourced."

"Several initiatives designed to increase our suppliers' competitiveness and capabilities as integrators have been implemented at Bombardier so that we succeed together."

The Canadian suppliers selected for the CSeries aircraft program are:

Delastek, located in Grand-Mere, Quebec, will supply the Integrated Flight Deck Package.

Marinvent Corporation of St-Bruno, Quebec, has been selected to develop the CSeries aircraft brand-new flight test management software.

Mecachrome of Mirabel and Elisen Technologies of Dorval, Quebec, are providing engineering services for the design and stress analysis of the fuselage.

The Montreal branch of Aeroconseil will help Bombardier with proactive engineering tools to ensure specific aircraft systems are developed and implemented in full compliance with certification requirements.

Over 30 subcontrators of Wieland-Davco are from Quebec. Together, they are building in Mirabel, Quebec, the world-class Complete Integrated Aircraft Systems Test Area (CIASTA), a testing and systems-proving facility that will house a virtual CSeries test aircraft.

The Canadian suppliers selected for the Learjet 85 aircraft program are:

Thales, located in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, will provide the spoiler system.

C&D Zodiac of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, will design and produce the aircraft's interior package.

In addition, 14 Fabricated Metal Parts suppliers were also selected for the CSeries and/or Learjet 85 aircraft:

Abipa Canada Inc, Avior, DCM Aeronautique, Aviation Lemex Inc., Mecachrome Canada, Groupe Meloche Inc., all of Quebec; Cam-Tag Industries Inc., Coordinate Industries Ltd., Cyclone Manufacturing, Dellcom Industries Inc., Koss Aerospace, Noranco Inc., all of Ontario; Apex Industries, of New Brunswick and IMP Group of Nova Scotia.

Bombardier brings value to the Canadian economy

As one of the world's most successful aerospace companies, the core of Bombardier Aerospace's success lies in its having an effective global supply chain. The development of the innovative CSeries commercial airliner and the Learjet 85 business jet are being led from Montreal and will bring significant value to the Canadian economy through the generation of thousands of well-paid, high-tech jobs.

Highlighting its relationship with Canada's supply base, in 2009, Bombardier purchased over $1.2 billion Cdn worth of goods and services from Canadian suppliers.

At peak production, it is estimated that Bombardier's game-changing CSeries aircraft program alone will create approximately 12,000 jobs across Canada, including direct and indirect jobs(1).

Previously announced Canadian suppliers for the CSeries and Learjet 85 aircraft programs

Pratt & Whitney Canada is building a brand-new facility in Mirabel, Quebec where the final assembly and testing of the CSeries aircraft's leading-edge PurePower(R) PW1524G(2) engine will be conducted. In addition, the clean-sheet Learjet 85 aircraft will be powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307B engines.

CAE will provide a comprehensive suite of engineering services and simulation-based technology tools to support the design, testing and certification of the CSeries aircraft and will build a prototype Full Flight Simulator. The company will also provide the Full Flight Simulator for the Learjet 85 aircraft, which will be used for training and to support aircraft testing and certification.

Heroux-Devtek is responsible for the design and manufacture of the Learjet 85 aircraft landing gear.
