Major companies of the aerospace and defence Industry have joined forces to launch DECADE-X (Digital ECosystem for Aerospace and DEfence), an association aiming at building up a new trusted digital ecosystem for the Industry. Airbus, BoostAeroSpace, Collins Aerospace, Liebherr and Thales will collaborate on the first bricks of a new trusted digital ecosystem to tackle the challenges of the industry with a digital collaborative ecosystem for interoperable solutions.

Priority is given to four areas:

- Supply chain resilience

- New product development and industrialisation

- Product conformity, traceability and regulation compliance

- Sustainability and responsible development

“The core principles of DECADE-X are data sovereignty, interoperability, security and comprehensive representation at all industry levels,” said Pierre-Emmanuel Raux, Chairman of DECADE-X. “Those key objectives will drive DECADE-X to lead the aerospace and defence industry into a new era of innovation and collaboration”.

Today, about 10,000 companies including a very large proportion of Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are active in the aerospace and defence industry and collaborate within a very complex and interdependent supply chain.

Key success factors to ensure their future are on-time deliveries of reliable high-quality systems as well as components and innovation materials preparing the next generation of more sustainable products and services to meet environmental and societal challenges.
