ADEX Machining Technologies awarded Boeing contract for 747 and 777 commercial jetliner titanium components
Saturday, 8 October 2011

ADEX Machining Technologies, a manufacturer of precision machined components for aerospace, defense and energy industries, announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) to produce a variety of Titanium and other exotic alloy structural components for Boeing 747 and 777 commercial passenger jetliners. ADEX will utilize a variety of advanced 5-axis CNC Milling and CMM quality measurement capabilities, in addition to value-added coatings, hardware assembly and kitting, to provide a complete solution of products on a monthly basis.

Earlier this year in March, ADEX was one of three companies selected for Boeing's Mentorship Program following a rigorous evaluation process and competitive down-select to identify qualified companies in South Carolina. As part of the Mentorship Program, Boeing provided technical, quality and supplier-management support to help ADEX complete all critical steps necessary for qualification.

"Producing flight worthy components for Boeing is the pinnacle of an aviation career," said Jason Premo, Co-Owner of ADEX Machining Technologies. "The team at Boeing worked closely with our staff throughout the entire process, while also coaching ADEX on best practices. This greatly accelerated the typical learning curve and enabled ADEX to successfully win a competitive contract in only 6 months. The Boeing philosophy of partnering with suppliers is a role model not just for the aerospace industry, but for any company looking for a supply-chain advantage in a globally competitive market."

Premo and fellow co-owner, Sean Witty, acquired a small tool & die job-shop in 2007 and implemented an aggressive modernization strategy during the height of the recession to create ADEX – an advanced manufacturer of precision machined components for the aerospace, defense and energy industries. ADEX was recently named one of INC Magazine's "Fastest Growing Companies" for two consecutive years and also featured on a CNN program segment titled "The New Face of the Blue Collar Worker".

"I'm proud to support Boeing's continued investment in America's work force and development of suppliers such as ADEX right here in South Carolina. In this economy, every single job counts, and Boeing's continued success will bring the skilled manufacturing jobs we need to spur our nation's economic recovery," said Trey Gowdy, U.S. Representative for the 4th District of South Carolina.
