Avio-Diepen signed long-term agreement with Jamco Export

Avio-Diepen signed a long-term fixed agreement with Jamco Export to supply them with Tyco's ARINC 810 Galley Connectors for the Boeing 787 Program. Jamco was selected as the sole manufacturer for both galleys and lavatories for the latest aircraft designed by Boeing. This "smart connector" as the industry is calling it, was designed to make galley equipment easier to install and remove. Ê

The connector provides blind mate interfacing in a rectangular design. This new standard has been approved for both Boeing and Airbus applications, and allows the crew to manage the power needed to run galley equipment on the aircraft. Ê

This new connector provides more efficiency by allowing the operator to better manage the power necessary to run such equipment as coffee makers and ovens, which consume a lot of power. This new standardized galley connector will also offer better interchangeability with galley inserts, which will give the airline more flexibility when choosing their galley inserts. In addition to providing intelligence and better utilization of galley equipment, the connector will also offer an overall weight savings since the aircraft will require fewer electrical power generators. This connector is just one of many parts that Avio-Diepen will be stocking for Jamco to support their aggressive growth targets for the 787 program.
