Airbus has selected Bangalore, India-based Dynamatic Technologies Limited as the sole supplier of flap-track beams for the A330 Family aircraft, making Dynamatic the first aerospace company from India's private sector to become a global Tier-1 Airbus supplier.
Highlighting the growing role of India in Airbus' supply chain, Dynamatic will supply four out of five flap-track beams per A330 wing with this new business award and is established as a center of excellence for the production of flap-track beams.
As one of the world's fastest growing aviation markets, there has been a marked increase in aircraft parts sourced from India in recent years, with approximately $300 million worth of parts sourced in 2013 – up from $20 million in 2006.
Since 2008, Dynamatic has produced flap-track beam assemblies for Airbus' single-aisle A320 Family on a global single source basis as a Tier-2 supplier.
Airbus has fostered partnerships with India's aviation industry for over 40 years, supporting the sector's sustainable growth. With its Indian activities coordinated through the Airbus India subsidiary, the company employs more than 350 engineers at Airbus India Engineering in Bangalore and operates training centres in Delhi and Bangalore.
