STELIA Aerospace North America announces manufacturing contract with Lockheed Martin for C-130J Super Hercules

STELIA Aerospace North America - Composite Manufacturing (SNA) of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, is pleased to announce the award of a contract from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Marietta, Georgia, for the fabrication of the C-130J Super Hercules vertical stabilizer saddle assembly, a complex composite fairing on the C-130J empennage.

This contract supports Lockheed Martin's industrial and regional benefits obligations associated with Canada's purchase, maintenance, and support of 17 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft. For STELIA Aerospace North America, it has provided the opportunity to join the supply chain of a world leader in the industry, and to demonstrate its capabilities to deliver quality products and services.

“This is STELIA North America's first production contract with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and we are pleased to be able to support the continued production of the C-130J for the next five years,” said Claude Baril, STELIA Aerospace North America managing director.

“The work will be performed in Mirabel, Quebec, at our composites engineering and production facility where we can utilize our technical network and know-how for the critical tooling, processing, and production requirements of this component,” said Manny Maes, general manager of STELIA's Composite Manufacturing Mirabel facility.

This purchase order represents an integral project within the execution of the Air Capability Program – Tactical Industrial Regional Benefits commitment. Work related to this specific contract will create an additional 10 jobs within the Montreal region.
