Impresa Aerospace expands nationwide footprint with South Carolina acquisition

Impresa Aerospace L.L.C., a leading supplier to the commercial, military and business aerospace industries, acquires the assets of Charleston, South Carolina based Dynamic Solutions, L.L.C. “This acquisition is in line with our strategic objectives of continually investing in our customers and increased vertical integration. By strategically placing production in close proximity to our OEM and Tier One customers, and enhancing our existing machining capabilities, we move these key objectives forward,” states Scott Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Impresa Aerospace, LLC.

The acquisition of the assets – including the real estate, machinery and equipment – will be followed by future capital infusions designated for facility upgrades, increased staff and further training. The acquisition is the latest move by Impresa Aerospace, and owner Twin Haven Capital Partners, LLC, to expand the company's nationwide footprint.

“Evaluating growth-oriented acquisition opportunities has been a key element of our strategy since Twin Haven acquired Impresa last fall. We have confidence in the strength of the Impresa platform and our management team's ability to integrate a new facility. The opportunity to acquire an existing underutilized manufacturing footprint in the dynamic South Carolina market was immediately appealing. Impresa is focused on providing high quality solutions to our customers, and this new facility ideally positions us to meet the growing needs of Boeing and other key customers in the region,” states Rob Webster, Managing Partner for Twin Haven Capital.

The new South Carolina operation gives Impresa a manufacturing position on the U.S. East Coast, in a region that is emerging as an international hub for aerospace and aviation. Sitting on 7.5 acres just outside the city of Charleston, SC, the new Impresa Goose Creek facility compliments the company's Southern California and Kansas operations with an additional 40,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity. The acquired Dynamic Solutions, LLC, facility boasts an array of CNC milling and turning machines, including 5 and 7-axis multitasking technologies. “Impresa's background has always been in traditional sheet metal fabrication. Although we continually add capabilities beyond sheet metal, this acquisition definitely enhances our precision machining abilities,” states Smith.

Along with facility upgrades, Impresa intends on bringing 50 to 75 new jobs to Berkeley County and the City of Goose Creek over the next 3 to 5 years. The new jobs will include skilled labor, administrative and management positions. “South Carolina's aerospace industry continues to soar, and today's announcement by Impresa Aerospace is a testament to that. This multi-million dollar investment is a big win for Berkeley County and our entire Lowcountry community, and I look forward to watching Impresa succeed there for many years to come.” States Bobby Hitt, South Carolina Secretary of Commerce.
