Lancashire-based industrial laminates specialist Attwater has successfully achieved accreditation to AS9100 Rev D, the leading standard for the aerospace industry's supply chain.
The AS9100 certification is the aerospace sector's upgrade of the traditional ISO9001 standard. When the ISO was revised to 2015 specifications, the AS followed by upgrading from its Rev C standard to the new Rev D.
The update ensures the aerospace industry can meet the constantly evolving needs of aviation, space and defence stakeholders.
Dave Swarbrick, Attwater's quality director, says: "The crucial change is that the new standard doesn't just focus on the traditional quality requirements but ensures a better integration with other management tools and business activities.
"This is ideal for Attwater as quality has always been central to the way we work, from constant proactive research and development keeping us ahead of the industry, to annual customer satisfaction surveys which monitor our progress."
Dave added: "From our perspective, we've always had a high level of involvement from all our board members. The new changes are, in effect, our existing practises, and we are pleased to have that recognised with this new accreditation."
