FEMIA, Mexico and PRI work together to improve aerospace in Mexico
Tuesday, 7 September 2010

To cement Mexico's reputation as a growing hub of aerospace manufacturing excellence, Federacion Mexicana de la Industria Aeroespacial AC (FEMIA), supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), contracted the Performance Review Institute (PRI) to contribute to the continual improvement of their manufacturing capabilities through personnel development.

Joseph Pinto, PRI Vice President & Chief Operating Officer commented "This agreement is very timely. Mexico's aerospace sector has tripled since 2004 and now constitutes over 200 aerospace companies. For the aerospace industry, wherever work is taking place, quality control is the highest priority. Nadcap accreditation and the associated training opportunities provided by PRI will enable the Mexican aerospace industry to exceed customer expectations by demonstrating an unprecedented commitment and dedication to continual improvement, while remaining cost effective."

At a conference in Mexico City in August 2010, Carlos Bello, Director General of FEMIA explained "FEMIA's mission is to represent the entire aerospace sector, always responding to all strategic challenges that arise and obtaining the best benefits for all its members. Mexico already represents a competitive prospect for the aerospace industry: this partnership between FEMIA, UNDP and PRI demonstrates Mexico's commitment to quality and strengthens the value proposition of doing business in Mexico to the international aerospace community."
