Russian firm SOLVER selects VISTAGY's FiberSIM(r) software to drive MAG Viper 1200 fiber placement system

VISTAGY, Inc., a leading provider of industry-specific engineering software and services, today announced the sale of FiberSIM(r) composites engineering software to SOLVER Company, a prominent engineering and consulting firm that has been delivering innovative technologies and equipment to Russia's largest manufacturers since 1993. SOLVER will be using FiberSIM for the first time in conjunction with the Viper 1200 fiber placement system from MAG to design and manufacture composite parts on behalf of Voronezh Aircraft Plant (VASO) for various projects. The sale was made in conjunction with VISTAGY's authorized agent in Russia, Innovation Technologies and Solutions (ITS), after an extensive evaluation and benchmark.

FiberSIM is the world's leading software for composites engineering and is used by numerous leading aircraft manufacturers, including Bombardier Aerospace, BAE Systems and GKN Aerospace. The FiberSIM suite of software supports all of the unique and complex design and manufacturing methodologies necessary to engineer innovative, durable and lightweight composite products.

With the FiberSIM Fiber Placement Interface(tm), engineers can automatically generate fiber placement data files within their CAD software systems directly from the 3D model of a composite part. FiberSIM also has the capability to import the actual paths from fiber placement machines and an interface to drive Automated Ply Verification (APV) inspection equipment, which validates that the as-manufactured part is representative of the as-designed/analyzed part.

With the FiberSIM Laser Projection(tm) module, SOLVER will also be able to automatically generate laser data files from within their CAD system directly from the 3D model of the composite part. This significantly increases engineering productivity, greatly reduces errors and makes it easy to update and maintain laser projection data.
