Spartech, a leading polymer transformation and specialty materials solutions provider, today announced a significant expansion of its Polycast acrylic manufacturing capacity, across multiple facilities. The investment supports the growing aerospace demand, strengthening its customer focus and supply capabilities.
Polycast cell cast acrylic materials are used in aircraft windows, canopies, windscreens, transparencies, and other demanding applications that require exceptional optical clarity, durability, and reliability under extreme conditions. Spartech's Polycast materials are used in military, commercial, and general aviation aircraft plus emerging eVTOL applications.
In 2026, Spartech's customer and end-market focused transformation included performance turnarounds at nearly 40% of its manufacturing sites and key business units, spanning most major markets served. Demand continues to accelerate in aerospace, healthcare, advanced mobility, building and construction, energy and electrification segments. To support this growth, Spartech is adding nearly 150 positions and embarking on greater cross-training of the workforce.
"Investments in our team, more dependable workflows, and greater capacity across multiple facilities directly reflect our transformation this year. We are confident in positioning Spartech's technology and customized product value to strategic tailwind markets, for better service to existing and new customers," said Andy Filson, Chief Executive Officer of Spartech.
The acrylic expansion comes amid broader momentum across the company. Spartech is currently experiencing growth in over 90% of its manufacturing locations, while operational improvements have helped several facilities achieve record production levels.
"Our progress is being driven by the commitment of our employees and the resumed confidence customers are placing in us," Filson added. "We are building on the legacy of a strong brand and investing where we see sustainable opportunities."
