New chromium alternative from SIFCO ASC

01/11/2011

Press releaseIssued by SIFCO Applied Surface Concepts and published as received — not written by Airframer’s editors.

SIFCO Applied Surface Concepts, LLC, a subsidiary of SIFCO Industries, Inc., is pleased to announce its new Nickel-Tungsten plating solution, Code 5711.

SIFCO ASC's Nickel-Tungsten (60/40) deposit is the perfect green alternative to chromium for repair and OEM applications that require exceptionally hard plating. The deposit was developed for aerospace, automotive, oil & gas and any other industry where the hardness of the surface is critical.

This new hexavalent chromium free deposit is one of the hardest chromium alternatives available today and it meets the hydrogen embrittlement characteristics of ASTM F519 without a relief bake.
