Giga-tronics achieves continuing AS9100 Certification, upgraded for 2012

Giga-tronics (NASDAQ:GIGA) announced that Giga-tronics has successfully renewed its AS9100 certification, an upgrade of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Giga-tronics is now certified as fully capable to be a provider of products and services (including deliverable hardware) that meet the most stringent aerospace and defense industry quality system requirements.

AS9100 is the Quality Management System standard for the aerospace industry. The standard includes all ISO 9001:2000 requirements as a base, with numerous enhancements that address aerospace-specific requirements:

• Configuration management

• Risk management

• Quality requirements flow-down to supply chain

• First article inspection

• Significant requirements have been added to design/development, procurement and supplier management, and monitoring/measurement activities

The standard was originally released in 1999 as a result of the work of major US aerospace manufacturers and has since been adopted internationally.
