Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company selects Pacelab Cabin

28/03/2008

Press releaseIssued by PACE Aerospace & IT and published as received — not written by Airframer’s editors.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), a subsidiary of the Sukhoi aircraft manufacturing holding, has purchased Pacelab Cabin to promote the sales of its Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet family. The cabin configuration tool by Berlin software provider PACE enables cabin engineers to rapidly create validated and optimized layout alternatives for what-if scenarios or competitive analysis.

Pacelab Cabin will be used by SCAC's Customer Engineering department to develop customer-specific cabin layouts that take full advantage of the SSJ100's extended lifespace and 5 abreast seat configuration. "The high comfort level of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 is one of our key competitive advantages, and Pacelab Cabin helps us to fully utilize this asset – even right in front of our customers' eyes since alternative layouts can be compared and revised as you go. We expect to implement significant time savings in the overall process by integrating Pacelab Cabin software into our existing CAD and PDM systems so that all affected departments within the company will speak the same language", says Dmitry Vertikhin, cabin customization specialist at SCAC.

The software streamlines the layout process by largely automating the modeling and positioning of cabin interior items, while constantly checking and assuring compliance with certification regulations and user-defined rules of arrangement. Pacelab Cabin is applicable to a wide range of aircraft from corporate jets to multi-deck long-haul vehichles.

PACE has a successful track record as a software supplier to the Sukhoi Superjet 100 program. Both SCAC and Superjet International (a joint venture set up by Alenia Aeronautica and Sukhoi for marketing, sales and delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 to mature markets and being in charge of the worldwide after-sales support of the aircraft) have previously equipped their technical sales teams with flight performance software Pacelab Mission/SCAP.
